SL1711A - Credit Risk Software Developer

JOB PURPOSE:

A senior developer is required for software development & analysis within the Credit Risk Technology group. This role would be suitable for an individual interested in working in a dynamic fast paced environment.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

The department is responsible for the development and maintenance of new and existing systems which are used by Credit Risk, Treasury, Legal Management and Legal Negotiator users. Applications are developed and maintained within the New York, New Jersey and Mumbai Office’s with users based in Global Offices.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role involves developing, modifying and/or maintaining an in-house developed reporting application. The contractor will develop reports including design, coding, testing and writing technical and user documentation. They will work closely with business partners in defining requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaise with business users to define and document requirements.
• Work with users and technology team members to identify solutions to business requirements.
• Deliver software components to specification and time as directed by manager.
• Support Global users of applications
• Strong SQL /Database skills required for this role.
• Develop and execute rollout plans.

  SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Degree in a Technology related subject.
  • Strong programming skills
  • Very strong and detailed Knowledge & Experience of Relational Databases (Sybase). 5+ years experience
  • Strong VBA programming skills. Detailed Knowledge & Experience of MS Excel. 5+ years experience
  • Development experience in XML
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self starter with positive attitude
  • Team player
  • Desirable to have Linux/Unix server side experience. Shell scripting, Unix commands, etc.
  • Desirable to have JAVA experience.
  • Desirable to have CVS (Branching and Merging) experience.
  • Desirable capital markets product knowledge, as well as credit risk management concepts and regulatory reporting knowledge
